Role-Playing Games

DoTa All-stars, Battle Realms, Ragnarok, Ran Online, Pangya, Flyff, and Freestyle online just to name a few are some of the hottest online RPGs or Role- Playing Games nowadays. Teenagers, mostly boys but some of my girl friends do play RPG, are the ones addicted to this type of game. But what makes RPG so addicting?

As I watch my friend play just recently, I can see that her focus and concentration was set into the game play and no matter how big a distraction you are, it will not disturb her. And that is one good thing about RPGs – it can enhance your concentration and focus skills – just know what to focus on when your back to reality.

Also, when she was playing, it was like her body was in the game itself that if the character moves to the left for example, she will also move to the left. It is amazing and enjoyable to see them play and how skilled they are at playing. Another good thing about RPGs is that it is a very good outlet for stress or feelings like anger.

As for me, even though I enjoyed watching my friend play, RPGs do not appeal to me. It is interesting, fun and amusing however I think that it is not intended for me. Maybe for the reason that I do not enjoy violence that much.

Also, I think playing RPG games require lots of time for game play and I do not have time to do that. But maybe, if time forbids, I can try one – for the first time. :)
