Oh yes, the very popular Yahoo! Messenger makes it to my Media Log. But what is it really? What is it for?

I am an avid user of Yahoo! Messenger or as what they call it “YM” and I consider it as a useful tool, most of the time. However, YM can be really tricky for it leads us to lengthy and gibberish conversations with our friends. Sometimes, I think, does YM help or not?

YM, on the good side, can be a form of communication to our relatives or friends whom we are not in close connection with. Through YM, we could remind our friends of new notices, announcements and etc. through what they call “group messaging”. It is not bad to really have a Yahoo! Messenger if your purposes are decent.

On the contrary, YM can be a big distraction especially to us, students because it can serve as a temptation to chat with our schoolmates whom we just had a conversation with at school. Also, using YM as a means to patch things up with friends is not right. There are no feelings and reactions seen so it is hard to tell if the person is sincere or not. Trust me; It never works out. And it is “genloss” as Miss. Platon had said.

So now I ask you, is YM good or bad?
