Ugly Betty

In the Philippines, fashion is not really given importance to. However, if you are in NYC or LA, your daily outfits are as important as your life. There being unfashionable is a crime. But it is not what you where that matters and Ugly Betty will help you prove that.

As a part of the I.D. Film Club, we were to watch movies, documentaries or series and one of them happened to be Ugly Betty. The story is originally from the Columbian series, Yo soy Betty La Fea. Set in the Ney York Fashion industry, Betty struggles to be included in any publishing company. When she was hired by Mode magazine, her life was so much different.

Although I was only able to watch an episode and a half, I already loved it. You might say I only liked it because it is about fashion but it is not. You might also say, it is boring but try to see it first before you speak. My friend has seen it and is not really into fashion but liked it. The plot is amazing plus it has mirthful, charming and interesting lines that will surely entertain you all the while. Just so you know, this series gathered awards at the Golden Globe Awards.

Do you have a copy of Ugly Betty? I really do want a copy of this. :)
