Note: I am not commenting on the play but rather on the reactions that have been gathered regarding Daniel’s role on Equus.

Where has the cute little boy had gone to? Has Daniel gone mad? Why did Daniel decide to go nude? What happened to Daniel Radcliffe? These are just a few of the many questions that had been lingering on people’s minds, forums, chats and ordinary conversations lately. And I, myself, can’t deny that I had been asking the same question.

Word got out fast – Daniel Radcliffe in nude – and even the pictures were spread quickly. When I saw the pictures, I was frustrated. I idolized Daniel Radcliffe more than any celebrity as Harry Potter with his cute-ness and wholesome image. Those were the reasons why I was attracted to him. And now, it is ruined.


However, that was before. I realized that changing his image at this time was a good idea – even Warner Bros. thought it was a good idea. The Harry Potter series would not last for eternity and if he would wait until the series ends, it would be too late for him. There is a positive side in this – we saw his versatility as an actor which is really commendable and admirable in an actor.

There are some people who could not still accept the fact that Daniel has grown to take on a more mature role than Harry Potter. We could not change that and we just have to wait for them to recognize how great Daniel is with his new role. In addition to that, seeing Daniel happy with his decision, we as fans, should be happy as well. :)
