M or F by Lisa Papademetriou

M or F by Lisa Papademetriou and Christopher Tebbetts

Is M or F, Male or Female or Marcus of Frannie? This book really got me to sit for seven hours straight and I tell you, it is worth the butt ache.

It starts off with Frannie liking Jeffrey who is considered a popular jock at her school and Marcus being his gay best friend. The problem about Frannie liking Jeffrey is she cannot speak to him unless Marcus is around to help her. As a way of help, instead of Frannie talking to him, Marcus is the one conversing with him online but as this goes on, Marcus falls in love with Jeffrey. He soon conducts secret conversations with him, pretending to be Frannie. However, when Marcus’ secret was revealed, every person’s secret was revealed, too - from Jeffrey being gay (or not), Glenn, Jeffrey’s best friend, being gay also and a couple that bloomed out of the blue.

I generally find all beginnings of books boring and dull with characters being introduced, settings described and etc. Same goes for this book, however, when I was halfway through the book, I was really annoyed with Marcus and his wrong actions. On the other hand, that makes the book interesting and thrilling, right? Though I can’t deny Marcus’ character was drawn out well.

M or F is all about friendship and how we should not let love ruin the relationship that has been built. This romantic comedy book has great amount of twist and turns that will surely get you hooked.
