Philippines: Labeled.

I have done a little browsing through the net and I found that our country is labeled as the Text Capital of the World, Most number of Friendster Accounts and from being no. 3 we went up and became The Most Corrupt Country.

This is not something to be proud of, agree? I am embarassed with this news and as a Filipino I should not be. Being the Text Capital was quite okay but adding the most accounts in Friendster just made things more terrible and frustrating. For what I observed, I think Filipinos use friendster as a way of speed dating with malicious intent – to meet other people and try to hook with them. I use friendster but honestly, I really do not use it anymore. I think it is a bit senseless and irrational.

Another, I know stereotyping government officials being corrupt is wrong. However, the stereotype became a fact when Philippines was named as The Most Corrupt Country. This should serve as a rude awakening to the government officials who steal money and use it for their own good and to the president as well who I think is being naïve.

Text Capital and the like is okay but Most Corrupt Country? No, I would not be able to accept that. We, Filipinos should wake up and start acting on this issue. :)
